Ed Sorrow of Sorrow Family Insurance and Texas Ranch Direct has seen first-hand the dangers of operating a tractor without ROPS installed. As a teenager, Ed witnessed a fatal rollover incident involving a family friend. The incident has stayed with him to this day and is a significant motivator for Ed to make life-saving upgrades on his own equipment.
In 2023, Ed became the first Texas farmer to receive funds from the National ROPS Rebate Program (NRRP). Now that his tractor has been retrofitted with a ROPS, he can confidently pass down his farm operations to his kids and grandkids, knowing he has set them up with a safe and secure future.
“This makes me so happy,” says Ed. “I have seen the pain in my friend’s eyes when they lost their father, our neighbor, to a tractor rollover. I am happy to help…promote the ROPS program, highlighting how this has protected my family and six grandchildren for many years.”
