When Brian Rohde purchased his International two-wheel drive tractor in 1973, he asked his dealer about installing a ROPS – equipment that was optional at the time. At the time, the cost was prohibitive and he decided to forego installing one. He recalls that, he has “tried to be careful using the tractor, but on any number of occasions the one main wheel has come off the ground giving [him] a scare.”
Brian, who uses the tractor to maintain about six acres of field in addition to woodlots on his property, signed up for the National ROPS Rebate Program after hearing about it on New Hampshire Public Radio.
He shared that, “the ROPS is a very rugged Hercules purchased from California. Now that it and the seatbelt are installed on my tractor I have a greater feeling of safety and security,” and that without the National ROPS Rebate Program he “still wouldn’t have a ROPS on [his] tractor.”
